Sight Fishing
Fishing for carp can be very similar to targeting many saltwater species. They can be found tailing and mudding like a redfish or cruising like bonefish and tarpon. There is no blind casting for carp. Every cast is intentional and targets a single fish. Try it and you will feel the addiction.
Size
These monsters average 8-12 pounds with some of the larger ones reaching 20+ pounds! We use 7wt and 8wt systems and commonly see our backing. Carp will take line like nothing else in the fresh water.
